The Center’s Scientific Excellence Recognized by Turkish Scholars

The Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, in cooperation with Dicle University (Türkiye), organized an online academic seminar entitled “The Activities and Scientific-Innovative Potential of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.”

The seminar was moderated by Mustafa Alagözoğlu, a recipient of the Imam Bukhari International Scholarship Program and a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Theology of Dicle University.

During the event, Otabek Muhammadiyev, Deputy Director of the Center, Senior Research Fellow, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the history of the Center’s establishment, its principal areas of activity, and the major scholarly achievements it has attained in recent years.

The presentation highlighted the Center’s efforts to study, research, and promote the rich scholarly legacy of Imam al-Bukhari both in Uzbekistan and internationally. Participants were also introduced to the Center’s expanding network of international partnerships, ongoing digitization initiatives, collection of rare manuscripts, specialized research library, and modern scientific and innovative infrastructure.

In addition, the seminar showcased a number of the Center’s fundamental academic publications and research projects. These included the Catalogue of Manuscript Copies of “Al-Jami’ as-Sahih”, the monographs The History of Librarianship in Central Asia from the Fifteenth to the Early Twentieth Century and The Development of Hadith Studies in Transoxiana during the Seventh–Ninth Centuries, as well as the 10 Facts publication series dedicated to the lives and scholarly heritage of the great scholars who emerged from present-day Uzbekistan.

The presentation also emphasized the Center’s active collaboration with leading academic and research institutions in Türkiye, Malaysia, Morocco, Algeria, and several other countries. Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint research projects, as well as the Center’s active participation in international conferences, symposiums, research fellowships, and academic exchange programs.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Turkish scholars and researchers highly commended the Center’s scientific and innovative capacity, its extensive international cooperation, and its significant contributions to the global study and promotion of the scholarly legacy of Imam al-Bukhari. They also underscored the importance of further strengthening academic cooperation and expanding joint initiatives between the Center and Turkish research institutions.

The seminar marked another important step toward introducing the Center’s scientific potential and innovative capabilities to the international academic community, while further strengthening scholarly and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
