A delegation led by Fandi Ahmad Yani Kholis, Regent of Gresik Regency in East Java Province of the Republic of Indonesia, visited the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.

The guests first toured the Center’s museum, where they became acquainted with the life and scholarly legacy of Imam al-Bukhari, as well as the rich intellectual and educational traditions that developed in the territory of Uzbekistan. The delegation members also familiarized themselves with the activities of the Center’s library, including its collections of manuscripts and rare publications, and gained insight into its ongoing research activities.
During the meeting held as part of the visit, discussions focused on the historical and spiritual ties between Uzbekistan and Indonesia, the study and promotion of the heritage of Islamic civilization, as well as prospects for further strengthening bilateral academic cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and the Administration of Gresik Regency, East Java Province, Republic of Indonesia.

The parties emphasized that this agreement would further strengthen academic and educational ties between the two countries and contribute to expanding joint initiatives aimed at the study and promotion of the scholarly heritage of Islam.
