A working group meeting was held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan with the participation of specialists from the Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmidhi International Scientific Research Centers. Representing the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center in the working group is Senior Research Fellow Shukurillo Umarov, PhD in History.
Within the framework of the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the preparation of scholarly content and the refinement of the presentation concept for introducing, at the international level—particularly on platforms under the auspices of the United Nations—the lives and rich intellectual and spiritual legacy of the eminent scholars who emerged from our land, namely Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, and Imam Maturidi. The participants also considered the development of a comprehensive plan of practical measures to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives. In addition, specific tasks were identified to provide a sound scholarly elucidation of the foundational role played by other distinguished scholars of our region in laying the intellectual groundwork for the First, Second, and Third Renaissances, and to communicate this heritage to the international community.
Furthermore, within the framework of the new scholarly and educational television project entitled “Uzbekistan – The Land of Great Scholars,” the participants reviewed matters related to conducting an expert evaluation of the content of 30 short documentary films produced by the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan. The discussions addressed their scholarly assessment and editorial review, as well as coordination of their broadcast. Particular emphasis is being placed on ensuring that these films, dedicated to the lives and legacy of our distinguished scholars, are presented on a solid academic foundation, with historical accuracy, and in a manner accessible to a broad audience.
The activities of the working group are continuing in a systematic and consistent manner.
