An online working discussion was held on issues related to the high-quality organization and conduct of the 6th Seminar on Thinkers of the Islamic World (SSIC-2026). The discussion was attended by the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center as the lead organizing institution, as well as the Institute of Islamic Civilization of University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Imam Maturidi and Imam Tirmidhi International Scientific Research Centers, and the leadership of the School of Hadith Studies.

During the discussion, it was particularly emphasized that the strong scientific and academic cooperation established over the past decade between the Institute of Islamic Civilization and research institutions of Uzbekistan has been developing in a stable and sustainable manner. As noted, joint seminars and forums conducted with the academic structures affiliated with UKM have played a key role in shaping the scholarly and conceptual foundation of the seminar series on thinkers of Islamic civilization. In this regard, SSIC-2026 is expected to serve as a logical continuation of this strategic academic partnership.

While the working discussion, the main objectives and tasks of the seminar were clarified. In particular, priority goals were defined as comprehensively highlighting the scholarly and spiritual contribution of Muslim scholars to the advancement of world civilization in the course of the development of Islamic civilization, further strengthening the exchange of experience between the academic schools of Uzbekistan and Malaysia, and enhancing young researchers’ interest in the rich historical heritage.

In addition, the format of the event, the thematic scope, the composition of participants, and organizational and technical issues were discussed in detail. As noted, the seminar will be held in a hybrid format—in person at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, as well as online via the Zoom platform.
At the conclusion of the discussion, an agreement was reached to hold the 6th Seminar on Scholars of Islamic Civilization on 10–11 June 2026. The upcoming seminar will undoubtedly serve as an important platform for discussing pressing scholarly issues in the field of Islamic civilization studies, further strengthening international academic cooperation, and widely promoting Islam’s ideals of enlightenment, tolerance, and the pursuit of knowledge.
