The scientific heritage of scholars is the basis of modern science

Shukurillo Umarov, a researcher of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, participated in the international scientific conference on “The role of Imam Tirmidhi’s scientific heritage in Islamic civilization” at the Imam Tirmidhi International Scientific Research Center on October 17.

The speaker noted that Mawarounnahr has produced many great scholars, including muhaddiths, commentators and jurists, and that the spiritual heritage of scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Maturidi, Abu Lais Samarkandi, Burhanuddin Marghinani, Imam Dorimi, Imam Muslim is of great importance not only for the Islamic world, but also for all mankind.

In particular, in the 8th-9th centuries, the science of hadith was widely developed in Mawarounnahr. The cities of Samarkand, Shash, Kesh, Bukhara, and Nasaf were influential centers of science in the Islamic world. More than 3,000 muhaddiths worked there.

During this period, famous muhaddiths such as Abdulhamid Keshi and Abdullah ibn Mubarak played an important role in the development of the science of hadith. The mutual scientific cooperation of Imam Bukhari and other famous muhaddiths developed through the mentor-student relationship of scientific traditions.

Many schools of hadith were operating in Samarkand and other cities, and students from all over the world came to Mawarounnahr to study science. These schools made a significant contribution to the development of hadith science in history.

Scientists from Central Asia have left a great scientific legacy not only in the field of hadith, but also in the history of Islam, the Arabic language, and other sciences. Among them, it is necessary to highlight scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Abdulhamid Keshi, and Mahmud Zamakhshari. Their scientific legacy and spiritual significance are still relevant today, and they will not lose their strong educational influence on the Muslim world community.

The participants of the conference applauded the experience of Uzbekistan in studying the history of Muslim scholars of Central Asia and conveying their rich heritage to the general public, and praised the results of religious and educational reforms.
