Bakhtiyor Ibotov, Researcher at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, is participating in an international training programme dedicated to the preservation and conservation of manuscripts held in libraries across Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The training programme, hosted by the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies and scheduled to continue until November 13, is being organized under the STEPNA Heritage project. The project is supported by the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH) and co-funded by the European Union.
Led by specialists from Türkiye and Greece, the training sessions cover key aspects of manuscript and paper-based artifact conservation, including proper storage, preventive conservation, cleaning techniques, and the preparation of protective wrappers and storage boxes.

Combining theoretical instruction with hands-on laboratory sessions, the programme provides participants with an opportunity to explore both traditional conservation practices and modern techniques for safeguarding valuable manuscript heritage.
