Imam Bukhari Center Researchers Present Papers at International Conference of Bolgar Islamic Academy

An international student scientific and practical conference entitled “Youth and Global Challenges: Intergenerational Dialogue and the Search for Solutions within the Paradigm of Religious Traditionalism” was held on October 6–7 at the Bolgar Islamic Academy in Bolgar, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.

Organized jointly by the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education and the Bolgar Islamic Academy, the prestigious academic gathering brought together leading experts, researchers, and young scholars from various countries.

Among the participants were Nurmuhammad Matkarimov and Bayozkhon Makhmudov, research fellows of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, who joined the conference online and delivered presentations during academic sessions devoted to protecting young people from global threats, preserving traditional values, and strengthening dialogue between generations.

In his research paper entitled “Islam’s Approach to Nature,” presented in Arabic, Nurmuhammad Matkarimov explored the spiritual and ethical foundations of environmental responsibility in Islamic teachings.

His presentation highlighted the importance Islam places on treating nature with care and respect, preserving the natural environment, and maintaining ecological balance. Drawing on Islamic principles, the researcher examined how religious and moral values can contribute to fostering environmental awareness and responsible attitudes toward the natural world.

Meanwhile, Bayozkhon Makhmudov delivered a presentation entitled “Traditional Family Values in Muslim Education as a Factor in Shaping Civic Identity among Young People.”

Drawing on scholarly evidence, he examined the essential role of traditional family values in the intellectual, moral, and social development of younger generations. Particular emphasis was placed on how family-based education and the transmission of ethical principles can contribute to shaping a strong sense of civic identity, social responsibility, and constructive civic engagement among young people.

The active participation of the Center’s research fellows in this international academic conference served as another practical demonstration of Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to support emerging scholars and promote the rich intellectual and cultural heritage of Islamic civilization on the global stage.

Their contributions also highlighted the importance of international scholarly dialogue in addressing contemporary challenges facing younger generations, safeguarding enduring moral and cultural values, and strengthening academic cooperation across borders.
