Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Visits the Center

A delegation from the Republic of Indonesia, headed by Muhammad Irfan Yusuf, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, visited the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.

During the visit, the delegation explored the exhibitions at the Center’s museum, its manuscript collections, and the ongoing scholarly and research activities being carried out at the institution. The discussions also focused on further developing academic and educational ties and expanding prospects for cooperation in the field of manuscript and source studies.

One of the most memorable highlights of the visit was an engaging demonstration and discussion with Habibullah Salih, Head of the School of Calligraphy at the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. A world-renowned master calligrapher, Habibullah Salih has personally handwritten copies of the Mushaf al-Sharif on several occasions. The distinguished guests watched with great interest and evident admiration as the master demonstrated the art of Arabic calligraphy and showed the process of creating unique examples of traditional manuscript writing.

Members of the Indonesian delegation highly commended the Center’s systematic efforts to preserve the purity and authentic values of Islam, conduct scholarly research into the rich spiritual heritage of the region’s great scholars, and promote this heritage widely.

The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
