An article entitled “Spirituality and Enlightenment: The Morning Star of New Uzbekistan” by Shukrullo Umarov, Head of Department at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, was published in the 9 July edition of the Iraqi newspaper Azzaman.
The article reviews the book “Spirituality – The Morning Star of New Uzbekistan: Islam as a Philosophy of Humanity, Knowledge, and Enlightenment”, authored by Iraqi writer, publicist, journalist, and researcher Ahmad Jasim Zubaydi. The book was published earlier this year in both Arabic and Uzbek.
According to the author, Ahmad Jasim Zubaydi seeks to introduce Arab readers to the spiritual reforms taking place in New Uzbekistan, the country’s rich Islamic civilizational heritage, and its growing role in promoting international cultural initiatives. The book provides a profound philosophical, scholarly, and practical analysis of the foundations of Uzbek statehood, the nation’s inner strength, and the key priorities guiding the development of New Uzbekistan.
The article further highlights the conceptual framework of the book and its forward-looking ideas, with particular emphasis on the practical implementation of the principle “For Human Dignity”, the reforms aimed at laying the foundations for the Third Renaissance, and ongoing efforts to ensure justice and the rule of law throughout society.
Shukrullo Umarov writes that the book presents, as a coherent intellectual system, the importance of learning from history, making wise use of today’s opportunities, and building the future through science and education. He stresses that conveying these ideas to the wider public – especially to young people studying in educational institutions – and helping them understand their deeper meaning is a shared responsibility of scholars, intellectuals, and researchers.
Reflecting on his personal experience, Umarov notes that he witnessed the presentation of the book in the Arab world alongside Ahmad Jasim Zubaydi. He emphasizes that translating the work into other languages and organizing international presentations will further promote the spiritual, educational, and religious reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan and enhance their recognition on the global stage.
Ahmad Jasim Zubaydi is a distinguished Iraqi writer, journalist, analyst, and researcher who has spent many years working in Arab media. He is the author of numerous books and articles on Arab and international cultural affairs, intercivilizational dialogue, and spirituality. In recognition of his significant contribution to promoting Uzbekistan’s history, culture, and ongoing reforms to the international community, he was recently awarded the “Mehnat Shuhrati” (Order of Labour Glory) by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
