On April 11, a roundtable discussion was organized at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, featuring the participation of heads of prestigious international organizations and leading foreign scientific-academic institutions.

At the event, officials from the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, and the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center engaged in dialogue with the heads and senior representatives of prestigious organizations, including ICESCO, IRCICA, TURKSOY, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Manuscripts Institution of Türkiye, the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and the International Turkic Academy (Türkiye), as well as the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and the “Al-Furqan” Islamic Heritage Foundation (UK).

Shovosil Ziyodov, Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, emphasized that this conference serves as further confirmation of the shared goals and aspirations toward the advancement of science and enlightenment.

The guests were presented with a video film reflecting the scientific research conducted and currently underway at the Center, the efforts to enhance the spiritual and educational environment in the country, and activities related to cooperation with international partners. Detailed information was provided regarding the large-scale reforms implemented by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the religious and educational spheres, the lives and scientific heritage of great scholars, and the extensive construction work carried out to transform their final resting places into prosperous sites. In particular, it was emphasized that the Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Termizi international scientific research centers, as well as the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan—all established at the initiative of the Head of State during this new stage of national development—have established ties with the world’s most prestigious scientific centers and are jointly implementing major research projects.
It was noted that the inauguration of the newly reconstructed Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand during the blessed month of Ramadan was a significant historical event not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Islamic world. Detailed information was provided regarding the conditions and facilities created for pilgrims, as well as the national and universal significance of the complex.
The distinguished guests highly commended the immense attention being paid in our country to the profound study and international promotion of the exemplary lives and invaluable scientific heritage of our ancestors. They also applauded the initiative put forward by the Head of State to hold a special presentation dedicated to the heritage of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, and Imam Maturidi during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the conversation, representatives of prestigious international organizations and leading scientific institutions unanimously supported the proposal to organize an international conference in June of this year focusing on the lives and scientific heritage of Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Termizi. This served as yet another high-level international recognition of the comprehensive reforms being implemented in the religious and educational spheres within our country.

At the conclusion of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation was signed between the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).
