The Uzbek-Finnish Pedagogical Institute in Samarkand hosted an international scientific and practical conference on “Turkish Islamic Thought from Turkestan to Anatolia.”
The conference was attended by Islamic scholars, specialists in the field, researchers from Turkey, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and well-known scientists of our country. The Chief Advisor to the Director of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center, doctor of philosophy, prof. Bakhtiyor Torayev also took part and gave a lecture on “The doctrine of human will and logic in the legacy of Imam Maturidi”.
The scientist recognized that great attention is being paid to the development of hadith studies and Islamic philosophy in New Uzbekistan, and that conveying the ideas of peace, enlightenment and goodness to members of society through a deep study of the spiritual heritage of Islam has become one of the important directions of state policy. He emphasized that the works of Imam Moturidi are of special importance in this direction, and that the teachings of the Allama occupy an important place in the correct understanding of the spiritual values of our holy religion.
Imam Moturidi highly appreciated the right of free will of a person. According to his views, man is the most free and free-willed creature among all created beings. A person’s choice based on reason and logic determines his destiny.
The participants of the conference acknowledged that great work is being done in Uzbekistan to bring young people to spiritual maturity through the effective activities of Imam Bukhari, Imam Moturidi, Imam Termizi International Scientific Research Centers and the School of Hadith Science, which, of course, will make our country one of the leading centers of Islamic enlightenment in the world.
