As reported, Megawati Sukarnoputri, the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the National Research and Innovation Agency, visited the Imam Bukhari International Research Center and left a signature in the Book of Honorary Guests.
In her entry, the stateswoman expressed that she has known Imam Bukhari since her youth, crediting her father, Indonesia’s first President Sukarno, for this connection.
“Imam Bukhari is a great individual who has opened the doors to Islamic sciences through hadith and has instilled in my heart the guiding hadith of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In Islam, encouraging people not only to recite the Holy Quran but to act upon its teachings based on hadith is a wonderful practice. We hope that in the future, all people will becoming closer to one another and unite spiritually based on this teaching,” wrote Megawati Sukarnoputri.
