At the Imam Bukhari International Research Center, a creative team from Malaysia’s state broadcasting company “RTM” (Radio Televisyen Malaysia) filmed a segment for the “Syahadah” program’s documentary about Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and pilgrimage tourism in our country.
This program, one of the largest in Southeast Asia, has been broadcast on the “RTM” channel since 2006 and now has an audience of over 10 million viewers.
The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur. It highlights the historical and cultural tourism potential of our country, as well as its crafts and modern tourism infrastructure.
During the filming, the creative team received detailed information about the Center’s international collaborations, particularly with Malaysian scientific institutions.
In 2021, the Imam Bukhari International Scholarship Program was established, with its first recipient being Mohd Al Adib Samuri, Deputy Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization at the National University of Malaysia. Dr. Muhammad Hilmi Jalil and Dr. Nurul Hafizah Mohd Nor also interned at the Center. The visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to the Center in May this year brought these relations to a new level. Collaborative projects with the Institute of Islamic Studies, the Institute of Islamic Civilization, and the University of Islamic Sciences in Malaysia sparked significant interest among the creative team members.
The Malaysian guests were also given information about the life and scientific legacy of Imam Bukhari.
The 10-part documentary is scheduled to air on the “RTM” channel during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
