The scientific staff of the IBISRC participated in the international scientific-practical seminar held in Almaty on the theme “Manuscript funds in Kazakhstan: preservation and research”.
At the event, the adviser of the Director of the Center, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Bakhtiyor Turaev made a speech on the topic “The experience of researching unique manuscripts of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
As noted that today more than one and a half thousand manuscripts and lithographic books and historical documents are being kept in the treasury of the Center. Of them, 607 volumes are manuscripts, 795 volumes are lithographic books, and 114 are historical documents. During the past period, 285 unique manuscript books and 114 historical documents were bought from the residents. 322 manuscripts and 795 lithographic books were received as gifts from individuals and legal entities.
Among the manuscripts, there are works by Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmizi, Mahmud Zamakhshari, Burhanuddin Marginani, Nizamuddin Shami, Hakim Termizi, and other scholars.
Turaev also focused on the ongoing activities of collecting, reading, cataloging, and digitizing ancient sources, as well as the work planned for the near future.
