An international scientific seminar was held on the theme “International experience in research and translation of manuscripts” at Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.
At the event, the scientific staff of the Center, winner of an international scholarship named after Imam Bukhari – associate professor of the Department of History of Far Eastern Countries of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of St. Petersburg State University Irina Katkova, researcher of “Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University” Derya Idikurt and the head of the Qur’anic Department of the “College de France” research center in Paris Dr. Marie Eftimiou participated.
At the seminar, the head of the manuscripts department of the Center, Y. Isaev, gave detailed information about the ongoing work on collecting, reading, and cataloging ancient sources. Irina Katkova and Derya Idikurt, who are currently doing scientific practice at the Center, also presented information about their research works and their results. At the same time, the French Researcher Dr. Marie Eftimiou shared her scientific experience.
It should be noted that foreign researchers have sufficient scientific potential in working with manuscripts and researching them as archaeological objects.
Their knowledge and skills regarding the aspects that should be paid attention to during the studies conducted based on manuscripts in the fund of the Center, the classification of written sources according to the type of paper, methods, and characteristics of its preparation, play an important role in the further improvement of activities in this direction.
