The representatives of scientific research centres of Uzbekistan held A webinar with the Director and Founder of colleges named after Ibn Sino and Maturidi in the UK, Sheikh Otabek Shukurov, reports IA “Dunyo” correspondent.

The parties discussed the establishment of a partnership between the colleges named after Ibn Sino and Maturidi and specialized research centres and institutes of Uzbekistan in order to implement joint scientific and educational projects to study the scientific, religious and spiritual heritage of Imam Maturidi, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of faith and science kalyam, as well as other prominent scientists and thinkers of medieval Mawarannahr.
In turn, the Director and Founder of colleges named after Ibn Sino and Maturidi in the UK informed about the activities of the educational institutions he heads, as well as about his plans to create a new university on their basis in the UK, which will be named after the great Uzbek scientist and astronomer Mirzo Ulugbek. In the structure of the new university, it is planned to create new faculties and colleges, which will specialize in the study and promotion of the scientific, religious and spiritual heritage of outstanding scientists and thinkers of medieval Central Asia, such as Ibn Sino, Abu Rayhan Beruni, Imam Maturidi, Mirzo Ulugbek, al-Khwarizmi and others.
Otabek Shukurov noted that the university will accept students from abroad on a grant and contract basis to obtain a bachelor’s degree in theology and traditional medicine.
For the information, founded in 2017 in Manchester, Ibn Sino and Moturidi colleges are non-profit organizations that train specialists in hadith studies, Islamic law, and traditional medicine. They also conduct research on the history of religion, the study of ancient manuscripts, the analysis of the Scriptures, judicial practice and Finance in Islam. When the College named after Ibn Sina operates the laboratory of the Abu Rayhon Beruni, where experts are developing new medical products based on scientific work by Ibn Sina. The proceeds are used for charitable purposes and to expand the activities of educational institutions.
