A delegation comprising representatives of Indonesia\u2019s most prominent religious organizations and leading academic circles paid an official visit to the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The delegation included Her Excellency Professor Siti Ruhayniy Jo\u2019hayatin, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Uzbekistan; Dr. Haji Soleh Qosim, representative of the Central Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama<\/em> (NU), the world\u2019s largest Islamic organization; and distinguished scholars such as Hazrat Abdurrahman Al-Kautsar and Nurul Huda Haji Jajuli, leaders of Indonesia\u2019s historic and renowned educational institution, Al Falah Ploso<\/em>. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the activities and ongoing initiatives of the International Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deputy Governor of Samarkand Region R. Qobilov and Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center Sh. Ziyodov provided detailed information on the initiatives being undertaken under the special attention of the Head of State to the religious and educational sphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

They highlighted the comprehensive efforts aimed at the scholarly study and global promotion of the rich legacy of our great scholars and eminent hadith masters, who made an unparalleled contribution to the development of the sacred religion of Islam.<\/span><\/p>\n

The central event of the visit was the completion ceremony (khatm<\/em>) of Sahih al-Bukhari<\/em>. Recognized throughout the Islamic world as the most authoritative source after the Holy Qur\u2019an, this monumental work\u2014comprising the most authentic hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)\u2014was completed at this revered site, adjacent to the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari. The occasion further strengthened the spirit of mutual goodwill and elevated the atmosphere of spiritual closeness and friendship.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Director Shovosil Ziyodov emphasized, Imam al-Bukhari\u2019s renowned compilation is not merely a collection of hadiths; rather, it constitutes a living legacy that serves to purify the human intellect, heart, and soul, and that has preserved its enduring value across the centuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the scholarly discussions, the unique significance of the work was examined in depth from the perspective of hadith studies, with particular attention given to its role in fostering both inner and outward purity and in channeling the emotional and spiritual capacities of the individual toward virtue.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a logical continuation of the bilateral dialogue, the essence and future prospects of the \u201cUmrah Plus\u201d pilgrimage tourism program were discussed within the framework of the implementation of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 9 January 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The negotiations focused on further strengthening Samarkand\u2019s position on the global pilgrimage tourism map. In particular, the parties considered the prospect of designating the newly constructed Imam Bukhari Complex \u2013 upon its official inauguration \u2013 as a key destination within the \u201cUmrah Plus\u201d routes for pilgrims arriving from Indonesia, thereby elevating this sacred site to one of the principal components of the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the visit, the members of the delegation paid a pilgrimage to the Imam Bukhari Complex and expressed their profound respect for the memory of the great muhaddith. The guests particularly underscored the site\u2019s eminent scholarly and spiritual significance within the Islamic world.<\/span><\/p>\n
