{"id":44720,"date":"2025-08-22T10:11:19","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T05:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/?p=44720"},"modified":"2025-08-22T10:11:19","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T05:11:19","slug":"from-genealogical-inquiry-to-intellectual-pursuit-tracing-the-legacy-of-the-descendants-of-khwaja-azam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/?p=44720&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"From Genealogical Inquiry to Intellectual Pursuit: Tracing the Legacy of the Descendants of Khwaja A\u2018zam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Yayoi Kawahara, Associate Professor and historian at the University of Tokyo, Japan, has paid a visit to Uzbekistan with the aim of conducting a joint academic research project in cooperation with the Imam Bukhari International Scientific-Research Center under the theme <em>\u2018Khwaja A\u2018zam Dahbedi and His Descendants: Genealogy and Spiritual Lineage\u2019.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/tokio18082.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">As part of her research, the scholar became closely acquainted with the sacred pilgrimage sites, mausoleums, and cultural heritage objects associated with Khwaja A\u2018zam Dahbedi and his descendants in the regions of Samarkand and Kashkadarya. The epigraphic monuments preserved at these sites ancient inscriptions on tombstones were analyzed and evaluated as outstanding examples of the advancement of Islamic history, scholarship, and spirituality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">These inscriptions represent not only an important source for the people of Uzbekistan but also for the international scholarly community. They reflect the way of life of successive generations, the chain of spiritual heritage, as well as the rich aspects of local history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/tokio18083.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to Yayoi Kavahara, these studies demonstrate that Uzbekistan preserves its religious and educational heritage on a scientific basis and with the utmost care.
