As previously reported, a delegation from Uzbekistan \u2014 comprising representatives of the Committee on Religious Affairs, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, and the international research centers of Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmizi\u2014is currently on an official visit to Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

On July 3, an international scientific-practical conference titled \u201cFrom M\u0101war\u0101\u02be al-Nahr to Southeast Asia: Islamic schoolarship and Intellectual Connections\u201d commenced in Jakarta with the participation of the Uzbekistan delegation.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the opening session, Professor Shovosil Ziyodov, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the organizing committee. In his speech, he emphasized the significant role of M\u0101war\u0101\u02be al-Nahr in the field of hadith studies and highlighted the invaluable contributions of great scholars such as Imam Bukhari to global science and knowledge. He also underscored the importance of further deepening scholarly and spiritual cooperation between Uzbekistan and Southeast Asian countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the framework of the conference, in-depth discussions were held on topics such as the historical heritage of Islamic sciences \u2014 particularly hadith studies, tafsir, and philosophy \u2014 its influence in Southeast Asia, contemporary challenges, and educational approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the main session of the event, Shovosil Ziyodov delivered a lecture on \u201cThe Development of Hadith Studies in M\u0101war\u0101\u02be al-Nahr,\u201d offering a comprehensive overview of the hadith scholarship schools that emerged in the 9th\u201310th centuries in Central Asian cities such as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Termez. He elaborated on their methodologies and traditions, as well as the prominent roles of scholars like Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmizi. A number of proposals were put forward to expand cooperation, including joint research projects and the exchange of students and researchers.<\/span><\/p>\n
