Daniyar Issabekov shared his comparative analysis of two commentaries on one of the important texts of the Hanafi school, <em>Hidaya<\/em>, while Hatice Demirci Akyuzpresented her research \u00a0on <em>Imam Bukhari and his work &#8220;Tarikh al-Kabir&#8221;: its structure, use of sources, and critical methodology<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-41941\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28042.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28042.jpg 660w, https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28042-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Daniyar Issabekov, a PhD student at Marmara University, provided a detailed information of the historical development, authors&#8217; lives, and scholarly legacies of two important commentaries on the <em>Hidaya<\/em> during the political and intellectual changes in Central Asia in the 13th-14th centuries. These commentaries are <em>&#8220;An-Nihoya fi Sharh al-Hidaya&#8221;<\/em> by Hisamuddin Husayn Sig\u02bbnoqi and <em>&#8220;Al-Kifaya fi Sharh al-Hidaya&#8221;<\/em> by Jalaluddin Gurlani.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">He emphasized that Sig\u02bbnoqi stands out for his unique style of scholarly analysis and logical reasoning. He presents the verses and hadiths in full and provides deep explanations of their meanings. In contrast, Gurlani opted for a more practical, concise, and fluent style, adapting his commentary to be more accessible for practical use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">The researcher also highlighted the stylistic differences between the two authors and their approaches to sources, providing scholarly examples to support his analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-41942\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28043.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28043.jpg 660w, https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28043-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">During the lecture, the audience gained interesting insights into the methodological differences between the commentaries on the <em>Hidaya<\/em> written in Central Asia and the Arab East, as well as the distinctive features of the didactic style in Sig\u02bbnoqi\u2019s work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-41943\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28044.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28044.jpg 660w, https:\/\/bukhari.uz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/tad28044-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">During the event, Hatice Demirci Akyuz, a researcher from Trabzon University, delivered an insightful lecture on Imam Bukhari\u2019s work <em>Tarikh al-Kabir<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">The researcher focused primarily on the process of writing the work, its classification system, the method of presenting biographical information, and the unique forms of critique regarding the narrators. She particularly emphasized the organization and classification in the work \u2014 a total of 13,787 narrators are discussed, all presented in alphabetical order, with special attention given to the companions of the Prophet (Sahabah). Detailed information is provided about the narrators\u2019 personalities, the regions they lived in, their narrations, teacher-student relationships, and sometimes even their occupations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In evaluating narrators\u2014whether through jarh (criticism) or ta\u02bfdil (acceptance)\u2014the muhaddith employed distinctive critical expressions and terms, such as &#8220;f\u012bhi nazar&#8221; (\u201cneeds further scrutiny\u201d) and &#8220;munkar al-\u1e25ad\u012bth&#8221; (\u201chis hadith is rejected\u201d), while relying on the assessments of earlier generations of scholars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">The speaker emphasized that Imam Bukhari critically analyzed the authenticity of hadiths based on the narrators\u2019 character, qualities, sources, methods of transmission, and the content of the texts.
