On December 24, the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), held another online seminar within the framework of the scientific project \u201cCentral Asia – the Center of Islamic Culture and Art\u201d. It was attended by scientific staff of the Center and representatives of IRCICA, as well as representatives of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Islamic Institute, the Imam Moturidi and Imam Termizi International Scientific Research Centers, professors and students of higher educational institutions in Samarkand and Bukhara, and researchers from Turkey.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the seminar, Doctor of Istanbul University Nilufar Kalkan Yorulmaz gave a lecture on the topic \u201cThe Tradition of Narration and Isnad in Samarkand in the First Three Centuries of the Hijrah\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The scholar noted that Samarkand is one of the cities with a rich history and culture, that its great contribution to the development of Islamic sciences has not lost its significance, and that many scholars emerged from here in the first centuries of the Hijrah.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As noted, Samarkand experienced its own social and cultural difficulties in the early days of the spread of Islam. By the third century AH, interest in and pursuit of knowledge had grown significantly in the city. Abu Hanifa and his Samarkand students laid the foundation for this development, passing on the early Islamic sciences to the next generation through their important works in the fields of jurisprudence and aqeedah.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Turkish researcher paid special attention to the students of Abu Hanifa. Among them, Abu Muqatil was one of the most famous, and his scientific activities in Samarkand were of great importance. The dozens of students he trained turned the city into a scientific center. Dorimi and his students also contributed to Samarkand becoming one of the famous centers in the field of hadith studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Nilufar Kalkan Yorulmaz, the dialogue between different nationalities and religions in Samarkand had a positive impact on the growth of scientific schools in the city. In particular, the scientific schools of such prominent scholars as Abu Hanifa and Dorimi laid the foundation for the formation of Islamic jurisprudence and aqeedah. Through them, the people of Samarkand embodied not only the scientific heritage of Islam, but also its great contribution to human culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The seminar noted that the scientific heritage of Samarkand continues to be a source of inspiration for researchers and educators today. The speaker noted that the history of this city shows us how the pursuit of knowledge and the cooperation between cultures can bring great results. Indeed, Samarkand has retained its significance as a center of science and enlightenment not only in the past, but also in the present.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar continued with a lively question-and-answer session.<\/span><\/p>\n
