The premiere of the play of the same name, staged by artists from Uzbekistan and Indonesia, took place in Samarkand.<\/span><\/p>\n

In January 2023, the regional delegation was on a trip to Indonesia and Malaysia. At that time, the Kattakurgan City Drama Theater signed a 5-year creative memorandum with the Bumi Purnati Theater in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a result of this cooperation, the two theater groups jointly created the play “Imam Bukhari and Sukarno.”<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 This play was written by playwrights Ahmad Fawzi from Indonesia and Guzaloy Salih from Uzbekistan, \u2013 says Botir Tugalov, head of the Kattakurgan City Drama Theater. \u2013 The play was developed online by creators from both countries for two months, and rehearsals were held in our theater for 15 days.<\/span><\/p>\n

This work tells the story of the visit of the first President of Indonesia, H.E. Sukarno, to Uzbekistan in 1956 to visit the grave of Imam Bukhari and the obstacles he encountered on the way. The directors of the play are Indonesian artist Ahmad Fawzi and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Valikhon Umarov.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The play was first performed at the Kattakurgan city drama theater, then at the regional musical drama theater. The premiere in Samarkand was attended by the deputy governor of the region, Rustam Kobilov, theater employees, and the creators of the play.<\/span><\/p>\n
