At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Head of Al-Azhar Complex, Grand Imam of Egypt, Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb has been awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Samarkand at the International Conference “Imam Abu Mansur Maturidi and teachings of Maturidia: past and present” in Samarkand.
Samarkand city khokim B.Oblokulov read out the decision of the City Council of People’s Deputies on awarding the Honorary Citizen of Samarkand title. Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb has been awarded this title and memorable gifts.
Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for high attention and organization of the prestigious conference dedicated to Abu Mansur Maturidi and his teachings.
The conference continues its work.
