Presentation of books donated by the Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation (UK) and the University of Marmara (Turkey)

The Imam Bukhari International Research Center was established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017. Despite the short period of its existence, our center carries out systematic measures to study and widely disseminate the heritage of our great thinkers and establish cooperation with reputable international centers. In particular, to date, Memoranda of Cooperation have been signed with 24 leading Islamic research centers and universities in the world.

As a result of this international cooperation, in January of this year, the Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation of the United Kingdom donated the Collection of about a hundred books to the Center, containing rare manuscripts and other sources stored in world libraries. Among them there are catalogs and rare manuscripts in Arabic, Turkish and Persian languages ​​stored in world funds, as well as works on the study and editing of manuscripts and books on Islamic science.

During the conference, the Center’s activities over the past period and its future plans, as well as the importance of catalogs from the UK for studying rare manuscripts were discussed.

The center also collaborates with leading Turkish universities. An exchange of experience was organized between young scientists of both countries who participate in international scientific and practical seminars. A practical example of such cooperation was the presentation of Imam Moturidi’s 18-volume book “Ta’wilat al-Qur’an” (‘Book of the Interpretations of the Quran’) at the Department of Theology of the University of Marmara.

During the event, a presentation of these books was held among the participants.

It should be noted that at present the Center’s researchers are actively translating the works of Imam Moturidi into the Uzbek language.
