On May 17-18 of this year, an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “The scientific heritage of Hisomuddin Sighnoqi in Islamic civilization” was held in cooperation with the University of Nur-Mubarak Islamic Culture of Egypt, and the Islamic Cooperation Organization Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
In the scientific conference organized on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the birth of the famous Kazakh scientist Hisomiddin Sighnoki the scientific staff of Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Bakhtiyor Turaev, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Mekhrojiddini Amonov participated.
The speakers gave detailed information about the importance of the scientific heritage of Hisomiddin Sighnoki, the manuscript copies of his works kept in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan, and the students he taught at the level of mature scholars.
Hisamuddin Sighnoqi studied under Hafizuddin Kabir Bukhari in Bukhara. His descendants are also mentioned in the genealogies with the nickname Sig’noq ota.
Hisamuddin Sighnoqi was a descendant of Burhoniddin Marginani and participated in scientific meetings in Bukhara, Khorezm, and Samarkand, as well as cities such as Cairo, Mecca, Medina, and Damascus.
His commentary on “Hidaya” entitled “Al-Nihaya”, Muhammad Nasafi Makhuli’s book “Sharh at-Tamhid fi Qawaid at-Tawhid”, His classification of “al-Kafi fi sharh usul al-Pazdawi”, commentary of Akhsikati on the book “Muntakhab” and “Sharh at-Tamhid” on usul, “Najoh” works are famous.
During the discussion of the lectures, the participants of the conference discussed the scientific and spiritual heritage of the scholars in Central Asia within the framework of collaborative scientific projects, the systematic implementation of the preservation and restoration of rare works, and the systematic implementation of scientific and practical exchange between the manuscript funds in the research of the works of Hisamuddin Sighnoqi and other scholars emphasized the need.
It is planned that the scientific staff of the center will take part in the international scientific-practical seminar on the topic “Manuscript funds in Kazakhstan: preservation and research” within the framework of the conference.
