PAN GI MUN HIGH APPRECIATED SOCIO-POLITICAL REFORM IN UZBEKISTAN

The Oxford Center for Islamic Studies hosted a meeting staff of academic circles and researchers with Pan Gi Mun former Secretary-General UN.

The high-ranking guest made a speech dedicated to “Global Challenges and Solutions” on “Climate Change and the Pandemic”.

Indeed, climate change has been a concern for all of humanity for decades. Today, in every region of the world, in every aspect of life, the negative effects of climate change can be observed. Elsewhere, droughts are threatening food security, while elsewhere, natural disasters such as floods, forest fires, and heavy rains are causing many disasters. Overcoming this problem and mitigating its consequences requires the united efforts of all mankind, as well as close cooperation and consistent efforts at the international level.

The COVID epidemic, which began in late 2019, has also become a global health problem unprecedented in recent decades. All societies have had to isolate themselves for a long time. This has negatively affected the daily lives of ordinary people, the economic growth rates of countries, weakened political, trade, economic, cultural, financial ties at the international level.

Speaking about these problems, Pan Gi Mun stressed that overcoming their causes and consequences is one of the key factors in maintaining stability, development, and prosperity around the world. Responding to the questions of the participants, he reiterated that today’s life itself shows that it is more important and urgent than ever for all countries to work together.

The guest of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies also shared his views on our country with Uzbek researchers.

“Large-scale reforms are deserved high praise in the socio-political sphere in Uzbekistan. The fact that many great scholars have grown up from this land, and have made an invaluable contribution to the development of world science, shows your history and the heritage of your ancestors are how rich. Today, a worthy generation is growing up, which is a sign of your bright future, – said Pan Gi Mun.
