Manuscript copies of Imam Bukhari’s “Sahih al-Bukhari” and international photo exhibition “World Islamic Cities” is started in the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center collaboration with Turkish photographer Orhan Durgut.
June 15, 2019, “Fifth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia”, was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Head of our state reported a number of proposals and initiatives of the state on further strengthening and development of cooperation.
In particular, Head of our state suggested establishing a systematic dialogue on issues of strengthening interfaith harmony, enrichment of enlightenment and culture and said that the Center for Islamic Civilizations in Tashkent and the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center in Samarkand could serve as an effective platform.
It should be noted that the initiative of the President has further enhanced the interest of foreign research centers to the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, and they have made a number of cooperation proposals.
Orhan Durgut, a well-known Turkish photographer, also encouraged this initiative and proposed to organize his own photo exhibition at the International Research Center of Imam Bukhari. It was supported by the Center’s management and relevant organizations.
In his works, the photograph reflected the historical buildings and sacred places of 60 Islamic cities around the world. It is noteworthy that Imam Bukhari visited the cities of Mecca, Medina, Basra, Kufa, Baghdad, Damascus, Kayseri, Asqalon and Eshbaab, where he was on scientific journeys and presented his famous Islamic cultural heritage there.
Orhan Durgut’s photo collection includes the famous historical places such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Tashkent and Termez, in particular, the Imam Bukhari Memorial, Registan Ensemble, Shohizinda, Ichan Qala, Hakim At-Termizi, Khasti Imam, Kohna Ark, and tombs.
“My goal to show these works is to introduce the Islamic world to all nations,” says Orhan Turgut. – I am very grateful to organizers for assistance in organizing this exhibition in your country. This reflects that is how much of your attention to the Islamic world, the spirituality and the heritage of science in your country. So far I’ve been to 60 Islamic cities around the world. In the future, I would like to be in some other 40 cities and reflect the historical buildings and sacred places of about 100 cities in my works.
As this international photo exhibition is being held in connection with the birthday of Imam Bukhari (July 20, 810), manuscript copies of the “Sahih al-Bukhari“ books of the muhaddith present to the public.
The book of Sahih al-Bukhari is the first reliable source in the whole Islamic world after the Koran. The collection of these hadiths is an example of the universal values that determine the morals, prayers, and social criteria of Muslims.
More than ten professors and researchers, specialists in the field and young scientists have been included in the international photography exhibition. It was noted, all people of the world enjoy with the rich scientific heritage of Imam Bukhari. The works of Great Scholar are translated into different languages and published. Almost all libraries from around the world were presented to pupils’ attention. Many of the world’s libraries and from internet sites can find and explore Imam Bukhari’s works of any language, especially, Al-Jami’ as-Sahih, that is, Sahih al-Bukhari. The works of the great Scholar are translated to the Uzbek language and deliver our people.
At the roundtable discussion and suggestions of research centers and specialists were heard and relevant tasks were identified for the further development of the sector. The manuscript copies of Imam Bukhari’s Sahih al-Bukhari and the International Photo Exhibition “World Islam Cities ” will last from July 19 to August 19 of the current year.
