Presentation of the books published in Uzbekistan was held in Berlin

The delegation of the center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari International scientific-research center   visited to the State library of Berlin. They acquainted with the learning the rare manuscripts of our great ancestors, cataloging ancient works and creating electronic copies of the works.

The Berlin State library was founded in 1661 year. The library is one of the Europien largest cultural establishments and includes more than 11 million books in all languages ​​of the world. There are 43,000 ancient works belong to eastern culture and including, there are keeping now 17,000 manuscripts and 8,000 miniatures related with the muslim civilization.

It should be noted that separately there are more than 30 manuscripts of the work “Sahih Bukhari” by the sultan of the hadith scholars of Imam Bukhari.

Since 2013year Berlin State library has been working on creating electronic copies of Eastern manuscripts. an electronic copies of 4500 works have been prepared till todays.

“The books offered by the International Research Center by Imam Bukhari became the best gift for the Berlin State Library. These sources will surely become valuable works for the Oriental people, especially those who want to get acquainted with the Muslim culture, “said Toralf Hanshtein, official employee at the eastern library.

It must be noted worthy that Berlin State Library is the most useful place for researchers studying the history of Uzbekistan in the IX-XVIII centuries, in particular, the manuscripts of the Temurids and khanates.

At the meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation between the Berlin State library and the center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and Imam Bukhari International scientific-research center.
