A press conference was held at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan to discuss the results of the 6-month activity of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and its plans for the second half of the year. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Information and Mass Communications Agency and the National Press Center, and was attended by the leadership of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and media staff.
Director Prof.Dr.Shovosil Ziyodov presented information about the Center’s work in the field of international relations and manuscript studies during the first half of 2023. During this time, about fifty practical events were organized, such as conferences, seminars, and round tables aimed at developing international scientific and educational ties. The center also presented books for publication, signed memorandums of cooperation with related institutions abroad, and sent three foreign fellows of the Imam Bukhari International Scholarship for scientific training.
Over the past period, a list of 260 handwritten works belonging to our great ancestors has been formed and stored in the library collections of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and India. In 340 manuscripts in Turkey, Japan, and Germany, the name, author, type, and libraries in which the work is stored were indicated, and a register was compiled. An electronic copy of 24 books (36 works, with a total volume of 3504 pages) stored in the manuscript fund of the Center was prepared.
Doctor of Philosophy in Historical Sciences Shukurullo Umarov gave an analysis of research and spiritual and educational work at the center. According to him, 17 works belonging to our ancestors have been translated, edited, and prepared for publication. Researchers have published 161 scientific articles. The articles of 4 researchers are included in the only bibliographic and reference database of international voluminous scientific literature, Scopus.
Also, in the first half of 2023, the scientific staff of the Center gave lectures at more than 60 spiritual and educational events and conducted more than 40 video seminars in various categories. 211 materials were published to prevent misinterpretation of hadiths and bring their true content to the public, 123 in the form of refutation and 301 against various religious lectures by representatives of religious movements whose activities are prohibited in Uzbekistan.
Doctor of Philosophy and Professor Bakhtiyor Turaev spoke about the Center’s long-term plans and large-scale projects for the second half of this year.
The press conference was broadcast live through the UzReport TV channel and its YouTube and Facebook pages, allowing internet users to participate in the event online and address questions, requests, statements, or complaints.
