A meeting was held between the Deputy Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center Otabek Muhammadiev and expert calligrapher Jasim Meraj, doctor of the Kuwait Center for Islamic Art, who visited Samarkand.
During the conversation, a number of opinions were expressed on the prospects for cooperation based on mutual scientific interest, and an agreement was reached to hold negotiations on the preparation of a draft Memorandum of Understanding in a short time.
Islamic art is one of the richest and most widespread arts of the East, and new aspects are still being discovered in it. Islamic art, rich in symbols, is extremely attractive and has a deep meaning that contributes to the understanding of the Nation and its greatness through all material and immaterial aspects of existence.
It should be noted here that the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center has accumulated extensive experience in promoting Islamic art through numerous exhibitions and practical events held repeatedly.
During the dialogue, it was stressed that organic cooperation in this direction will serve to further improve the effectiveness of the projects being implemented.
The guest presented books on the history and culture of Islam, samples of calligraphy and inscriptions of historical monuments in Islamic cities, published by the Kuwait Center for Islamic Art, for the Center’s library.
